Makoto Tadokoro, the representative, began his career in the knife industry at the age of 16. In Sakai City, Osaka—renowned for its production of single-edged knives—he undertook an apprenticeship under a renowned knife sharpener and received training in the art of knife sharpening.
In 2010, he established "Tosa Knife Workshop: Tadokoro Hamono" and launched his own brand, "Marushin." His knife-sharpening techniques, honed over more than 30 years, are highly regarded both in Japan and abroad as a traditional Japanese craft.
His approach to knife-making is always straightforward. He is a sincere craftsman who generously shares his experience and knowledge with the next generation. The Tokuzo staff were deeply impressed by his character and passion.
In response to a high volume of requests from Japan and abroad, he continues to refine his expertise on a daily basis, motivated by his ambition to create "something even better".
