Tokuzo Knives Representative
Tsuneichiro Mori

Tokuzo Knives was created to provide tools that fit naturally in the hand. We make and sell Tosa-style hand-forged cutlery.

GLAZIA Co., Ltd. started as an online store that showed products from Kochi Prefecture. Our mission is to deliver locally produced goods to people who need them. As we continued working on this project, we met many producers and made strong connections with them. We started to buy products directly from the people who made them. We bought things like rice and sansho pepper from Kochi Prefecture. Then, we sold these products under our own brand. Our journey into kitchen knives is a natural next step.

When I met the people who make Tosa-style knives, I learned that these knives are more than just tools. They are part of a long cultural tradition. The culture of Tosa's rural blacksmiths—who have long crafted tools used in daily life for forestry, agriculture, and fishing—deeply moved me, as did the spirit that values practicality and the role of the kitchen knife as a tool that supports the work of those who use it.

I wanted to pass this culture on to the next generation, so I started the Tokuzo Knives initiative.
The quality of knives can't be shown in photos or words alone. I opened a store so that customers could see and touch the products. Many customers were interested in our products, so we were able to open stores in Kappabashi (Tokyo), Namba (Osaka), Chatan (Okinawa), and Kokusai-dori (Okinawa).

At our store, we meet all kinds of customers, from professional chefs to cooking enthusiasts to people who take great care in using knives every day. We believe that knives are most useful when they are used. We want knives to be a reliable tool in any kitchen. This is the idea behind the phrase "Walking Alongside People and Their Knives", which we came up with.

The people who use them, the ways they're used, and the way we live—everything changes day by day. This knife will feel more and more like an extension of your hand as you use it. At Tokuzo Knives, our goal is to bring knives that reflect this idea.

We believe that a good tool is one that quietly and continuously supports the work of the person who uses it.

Born from encounters with creators,
It will be passed on to the hands of the user.
