Since opening in January 2024, we have welcomed many customers from both Japan and abroad, sharing the charm of Japanese knife culture and craftsmanship with visitors to Okinawa.
Heiwa-dori have deep historical roots to the history of Naha's reconstruction after the end of the Battle of Okinawa. The reconstruction began when potters from the Tsuboya district returned to their hometown and the production of pottery and daily necessities. Subsequently, an open-air market spontaneously sprang up from the Tsuboya district to the Makishi district, and the buying and selling of goods became active, which is considered the origin of the present-day Heiwa-dori.
Named after the "Peace Hall" that stood at the entrance to the street, this shopping arcade has developed into a bustling thoroughfare lined with clothing stores, souvenir shops, restaurants, and more. An arcade was completed in 1981, and it is now a popular and vibrant area frequented by both locals and tourists.
